Valentina Di Stasio is Professor of Sociology at the European University Institute (EUI). Before joining the EUI, she was an Assistant and Associate Professor at Utrecht University and a postdoctoral researcher at Nuffield College (University of Oxford) and the WZB Berlin Social Science Centre. Her PhD dissertation, awarded by the University of Amsterdam in 2014, received the Dissertation of the Year prize from the European Consortium of Sociological Research (ECSR). Di Stasio’s research examines labour market inequalities, with a focus on ethnic and racial discrimination. She is best known for her use of coordinated, multi-sited survey and field experiments. Currently, she is the PI of the ERC-funded project TARGETS on the drivers and consequences of discrimination (mis-)perceptions, and the co-PI of the Horizon Europe project EqualStrength, which uses innovative audit experiments to measure cumulative discrimination across life domains and over the life course. She has published in leading journals such as Annual Review of Sociology, Social Forces, European Sociological Review, and Social Psychology Quarterly.
