Paola Tubaro is research professor (Directrice de Recherche) in sociology and technology at the National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS, in French Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique). Trained as an economist before getting interested in sociology, she is at the Centre for Research in Economics and Statistics (CREST) on the Palaiseau campus south of Paris. Her research is inter-disciplinary and leverages synergies between sociology, network science, and artificial intelligence. She is currently researching the place of human labour in the global production networks of artificial intelligence, social inequalities in digital platform work, and the diffusion of online disinformation. She has also extensively published in the fields of data methodologies and research ethics. Paola Tubaro teaches Social Network Science, Data Ethics, and Responsible Data Science at ENSAE Paris. She is a Senior Member of the Millennium Nucleus on the Evolution of Work (M-NEW), Chile, and a former by-Fellow of Churchill College, University of Cambridge, UK. Before joining CNRS in January 2016, she was a Reader in economic sociology at the University of Greenwich, London, UK.Â
