Marie Evertsson is professor of Sociology and Social Policy, and Director of the Swedish Institute for Social Research (SOFI), Stockholm University. She was the Principal Investigator of the ERC funded Consolidator Grant Project GENPARENT [https://www.su.se/genparent-research-project]. She completed her PhD at Stockholm University in 2004, was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Center for Research on Inequalities and the Life Course at Yale University in 2006-2007, and a Co-director of the Swedish Level of Living Survey 2010. In 2012-2017, she was a Lecturer and Associate professor (since 2010) at the Department of Sociology, Stockholm University. Evertsson’s research focus on the (gendered) division of paid work and care and the degree to which family policies influence individuals’ labor market prospects and income trajectories during the transition to parenthood. Her research includes large-scale, internationally comparative, quantitative studies but also qualitative interviews and analyses.
