Frank van Tubergen, born in 1976, is Professor of Sociology at the Department of Sociology, Utrecht University, Netherlands. He studied Sociology and Philosophy in Nijmegen and obtained his PhD at Utrecht University in 2005. He is a member of the Interuniversity Center for Social Science Theory and Methodology (ICS) and the European Research Centre on Migration and Ethnic Relations (ERCOMER). In 2010, he was elected as a fellow of the Young Academy of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW). He is involved in the development of two major (cross-national, longitudinal) surveys in Europe, which started in 2010: Children of Immigrants Longitudinal Study in Four European Countries (CILS4EU), and Causes and consequences of early socio-cultural integration processes among new immigrants in Europe (SCIP). His work appeared in American Journal of Sociology, American Sociological Review, Social Forces, Demography, European Sociological Review, International Migration Review and Social Science Research. His research interests include social networks, intermarriage and friendship, integration of immigrants and their children (language, social contacts, education, employment), and religion.
