Prof. Dr. Christine Musselin

Christine Musselin is a professor of sociology and Dean for research of Sciences Po since May 2013 after six years as the director of  the Centre de Sociologie des Organisations (CSO), a research unit of Sciences Po and the CNRS. She attended the ESCP, a business school before preparing a PhD under the supervision of Michel Crozier. She was recruited by the CNRS as a researcher of the CSO in 1989. She received her habilitation from the University of Nanterre in 2000. She was a DAAD fellow in 1984-1985, a Fulbright and Harvard fellow in 1998-1999 and a visiting fellow at the WZB in June 2010. She leads comparative studies on university governance, public policies in higher education and research, state-universities relationships and academic labour markets. She is the author of La longue marche des universités françaises (PUF 2001, in Engligh by Routledge in 2004), Le marché des universitaires, France, Allemagne, Etat-Unis (Presses de Sciences Po in 2005, published in English by Routledge in 2009) and edited Contructing Quality with Jens Beckert (OUP, 2013).
