Prof. Dr. Dana Hamplová
Dana Hamplová is a Professor of Sociology at the Institute of Sociology, Czech Academy of Sciences, and at the Department of Sociology, University of West Bohemia. She earned a Ph.D. in Sociology from the Charles University. From 2002 to 2004, she worked as a research associate at the Globalife project at the University of Bamberg. From 2006 to 2010, she was a post-doc at McGill University at the Canadian Research Chair on Social Statistics and Family Change.
Currently, she is a secretary at the European Consortium for Sociological Research (ECSR), a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the European Social Survey (ESS), and of The Research, Development, and Innovation Council affiliated with the Czech government. From 2014 to 2017, she was a member of the Board of Directors of the Consortium of European Social Science Data Archives (CESSDA)
Her main research interests are in social inequalities, demographic behavior, quality of life, and comparative sociology. Her work has appeared in leading international journals such as Demography, European Sociological Review, and European Journal of Population.
