Prof. Dr. Gunn Elisabeth Birkelund

Gunn Elisabeth Birkelund was born in 1954. She studied sociology at University of Bergen. She has had longer research visits at University of Madison-Wisconsin, University of California at Berkeley, University of Oxford and Nuffield College. She is Professor of Sociology at University of Oslo and a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Analytical Sociology, Linköping University. Her research interests include analytical sociology, labor market studies, social stratification, and social cohesion. She is a Fellow of the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters.
