2019 Raymond Boudon Award Winner of the EAS

Ozan Aksoy was born in 1980 in Kayseri, Turkey. He is Associate Professor at the UCL Social Research Institute, University College London. Prior to joining UCL in 2016, he was a research fellow at Nuffield College and the Department of Sociology, University of Oxford. He holds a PhD in sociology and an MSc in sociology and social research from Utrecht University and a BA in business from Bogazici University. His research interests include cooperation, trust, religious behaviour, and the political sociology of religion. He uses game theory, statistical and computational methods, and laboratory and natural experiments as research tools. In addition to the Raymond Boudon Award, Aksoy has received the 2018 Robert K. Merton award of the International Network of Analytical Sociology. His recent work has been published, among other outlets, in American Sociological Review, American Journal of Sociology, Social Forces, Nature Human Behaviour, European Sociological Review, American Journal of Epidemiology, Journal of Mathematical Sociology, and Sociological Science.
